Extramundane at Ego Park in Oakland
Wednesday, January 30, 2008 5:58 PMThis announcement is a bit late, but the show will be up for most of February and there will be an event there on Friday Feb 1 (Oakland First Fridays) so go check out the show. Unfortunately I won't be there... I'm giving a presentation at Southern Utah University the night before.
Here's a video of one of the pieces in the show, a modular site piece made of photographic cubes:
EXTRAMUNDANE
OPENING JANUARY 25TH 2008
First Friday Reception February 1st
EXTRAMUNDANE is an exhibition of Las Vegas/Chicago-based artist Cayetano Ferrer’s most recent work involving public space, architecture, as well as the act and experience of surveillance. Partly focused on work made in and about Ferrer’s hometown of Las Vegas, NV, this show is manifested through various media and approaches. Sculpture, photographs, and video installation provide the viewer with an insight into the constant flux of the built environment and the easily unnoticed interplay of objects and time.
EgoPark is an art gallery in Oakland, California that uses curated exhibitions to provide an appropriate context for an array of art in diverse media. 492 23rd St., Oakland, CA (510)798-6566 www.egopark.com. The show runs from Jan 25, 2008 through Feb, 23 2008. Gallery Hours: Thurs – Sun, 1 – 6pm
