When the Fun Stops is an exhibition centered around three speculative proposals for constructions in and around the city of Las Vegas. The proposals are part of an ongoing research-based project and combine architecture, appropriated imagery and film history to locate particular social and psychological tendencies in the mythologized geography of the west. Informed by a range of influences from the Earthworks movement to casino architecture and graphic design, the work exists in a pliable state that slips between forms and primarily attempts to engage itself into the story of spectacle and destruction in this desert landscape. The scale models presented in the exhibition are supported by drawings and conceptual renderings.
